vital role in the global supply chain.
Because our industry is labor intensive, social compliance
remains the backbone of our corporation’s human
resource administration. Chutex Group’s core values
and business ethics dictate that our independent Corporate
Social Responsibility Team, which reports directly to
the top managers and directors, strictly enforce our
company’s policies regarding social compliance.
The team is responsible for making sure that all employees
are able to benefit from standard international labor
practices and regulations championed by the government
and our customers.
Every facility of Chutex has a compliance team that
ensures the implementation of local and applicable international
labor standards at the workplace. Regular internal monitoring,
training and education of employees, dialogues between
the management and workers and workers committees sustain
the compliance system. At the same time, constant monitoring
and education of employees ensure that our employees
work in a safe and healthy environment.
In
addition, Chutex’s corporate culture strongly
believes in protecting the natural environment. We work
closely with the local authorities and environmental
agencies to ensure that the wastewater discharged from
our washing facilities are properly handled. Moreover,
we ensure that all waste materials from each factory
are properly discharged.
After the horrific events that occurred on September
11, 2001, Chutex has worked closely with its customers
to implement C-TPAT, or Customer-Trade Partner Against
Terrorism. We have devoted more resources to put C-TPAT
into operation, including hiring more security personnel,
constructing more illuminations, requiring additional
training for all employees, creating an independent
and secure warehouse with complete monitoring systems
and establishing more internal and external protective
barriers in our facilities.
Chutex group continues to keep a corporate culture
of mutual respect, harmonious labor relations, health,
safety, quality and productivity. In essence, our Corporate
Social Responsibility Team provides a guarantee to our
customers that the products they sell are made according
to international labor practices and that there will
be no repercussions from goods delivered by Chutex.
